Community Service

Community service encourages students to develop empathy, responsibility, and a commitment to serving others. Matthew 5:16 (NLT) reminds us:

“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your Heavenly Father.”

Serving others not only meets practical needs but also reflects the love of Christ to our community. Through this requirement, students will have opportunities to live out their faith, develop a servant’s heart, and be a light for Jesus wherever they go.

At Faith Preparatory School, students in grades 9–12 are required to complete 5 hours of community service per year as part of our graduation requirements. All community service hours must be performed outside of regular school hours.

Acceptable activities include (but are not limited to):

  • Volunteering at church events

  • Assisting with school events (outside of school hours)

  • Serving at food pantries, clothing drives, or soup kitchens

  • Visiting, assisting, and/or ministering in nursing homes or hospitals

  • Helping with community clean-up projects

  • Tutoring without pay

  • Serving in local or global mission efforts
